It's helpful, to understand that when stress arises, it is often an expression or result of some internal deficiency, imperfection, immaturity, internal conflict, or an old trauma that needs to be dealt with. Stress is only a reaction, and this reaction depends on the mental content we have. A stressful reaction shows us which areas of the mind need to be looked at more closely and fixed. Of course, on a physical level, it's worth undertaking some de-stressing activities. Bathing in salt (Himalayan, Epsom), or watching some inspiring program might be greatly helpful. Some activities significantly help in overcoming stress:
-Relaxation techniques: practices, such as meditation, deep breathing, or yoga can help reduce stress levels.
-Regular physical activity: even light exercise can improve mood and reduce stress
-Healthy diet: eating a balanced diet can support mental health.
-Sleep hygiene: maintaining a regular sleep schedule and ensuring good sleep quality helps manage stress.
-Social support: talking with friends, family, or a therapist can provide emotional support.
-Finding time for rest and hobbies: Regularly dedicating time to favourite activities and hobbies allow for relaxation and detachment from daily responsibilities, which helps reduce stress.
Certainly, reflexology can be very helpful in reducing and alleviating stress. Reflexology works holistically, benefiting the entire body. It improves blood circulation, reduces pain, and supports hormonal balance. These are all key factors in combating stress. I have had many clients who complained of stress and anxiety, and I must admit that reflexology significantly helped to alleviate their stress. The traditional techniques, AIR and Palliative Techniques have been very effective, although AIR and palliative techniques seemed to be more efficient. All clients who have experienced AIR techniques told me their lives had changed. I know, this is a strong statement, but I have personally seen their transformation and the passion with which they expressed it. Especially AIR techniques are very relaxing. I always spend more time working on the toes, as this seems to release beneficial chemicals in the brain, and hormones in the human body. After such treatments, clients always report feeling more energized, pampered, centred, and experiencing a greater sense of well-being, with a significant and rapid improvement in the quality of their sleep.
My clients who were under stress, suffered from headaches, neck, shoulder, and back pain. One client had stomach neurosis. After reflexology sessions, these symptoms completely subsided, with the stomach neurosis improving even after the first session. This illustrates that symptoms in the body often are caused by intense stress, and a healthy, calm mind activates strong healing mechanisms, as our bodies strive for homeostasis and have strong self-healing capabilities.
Since we as humans are also energetic fields, I believe that such disturbed, weakened energy fields can be repaired to some extent through a change in vibration that occurs during moments of deep relaxation, feelings of happiness, well-being, and a sense of being cared for.
Such a change in the frequency of vibration of our energy field is also a strong stimulus for self-healing. Reflexology initiates healing processes on three levels – physical, mental, and energetic – making it a fantastic form of therapy. If the therapist emits good-quality energy and provides the patient with the above-mentioned sensations through their work, the path to recovery should be quick and pleasant.
